I upload a very simple CGI counter to my server,
but it doesn't work.

what's the problem?

Could be a lot of things. Is it executable (755 permissions)? Is the shebang line pointing to the correct Perl processor path for your server? How about turning on various flags to show warnings and such?  Do you get any error messages or warnings? Does the file counter increment? Does anything go to the browser?
