Anyone have some success with installing and getting this program to function properly? I read some of the SourceForge installation procedure but since this is an auto installation procedure most of the details automated. No success and no access to the administrator site after my installation. If anyone can provide some details as to what I may have missed, advice, and recommendations are most welcome. Thanx,

Jeff

I had initially had it installed using Fantastico. Then I had to do a manual upgrade a few days later. Confused What do you mean there is no access to the administrator site? Is the gallery up at all? Could you provide a link?

Thanx for getting back to me. From what I gathered from your reply, you loaded it using Fantastico with the automated setup and then upgraded to the latest version, correct ? Mine loaded with an error, I believe it was directory related but there was no link to login as Admin to setup preferences and customize the page. I've unloaded so there isn't anything to use for reference. What procedures did you go through when loading on your site ? Nice photos by the way in the Stanford album.

During the installation, Coppermine should have asked you to set up the administrator account. When you go to the gallery web page, you click "log in" and log in using that account. When you are in there, there is a user mode, so you can see what a regular user would see. Pretty neat. I forgot, but the default screen might have the log in link under a button that says '@'. Silly, huh? The nice thing about coppermine is that it lets you create your own template, so I edited mine so it doesn't use the @ link.

I would recommend the upgrade; it has some nice goodies.

Thanks for the compliment. Stanford is a beautiful campus, especially around dusk.

Thanks again, I got it working and I should have known better. I was naming the Directory, Photo Gallery as I know from Oracle it hates spaces which was causing all the problems so an underscore fixed the problem. I'll go back and use an alias to point directories properly. If you'd like to check out some of my stuff in the future you're more than welcome, www.jsmmeyer.com/Photo_Gallery. I'm trying to get stuff loaded on as I go. I'm currently traveling the country and visiting friends along the way.
