How do I make it so that there are automatic file and mysql backups everyday at a certain time? How do I make a the home directory and mysql databases be backed up into a certain folder?

I am a beginner at this so if you could post really easy instructions that would be great.

Thanks.

Hello,

Unfortunately you do not have an option for a specific cronjob to make backups. These can only be created using php , perl , bash scripts but you can manually create full backups:

Just login to your Cpanel account , click Backups -> Generate/Download a Full Backup -> Leave Backup Destination: home directory -> Your email (you will receive an email when the backup is finished) and click Generate backup.

The email will show you the location and the name of the backup created.

Have a wonderful day!

See http://www.lunarforums.com/web_hosting_tutorials_faqs_and_resources/site_and_mysql_backups_via_cron-t22118.0.html for help with this. I use those scripts to backup mine. I wouldn't backup files every day as that could cause high server load and you can't leave backups on your account. Be sure to download them regularly and delete the server copy. My databases are small enough (less than 2 megs) to have them emailed to me.
