I upgraded a page on my website this morning, but while saving it, got a message that the cgi files associated with the counter couldn't be saved. I am trying to reset the counter so that the number count is at least what it was as of yesterday evening, which was 200. Since I can't seem to get it right through cpanel, I thought I'd copy and paste the code from a random page on my site, change the name on that page to the name of the page whose count I want to change, then, tinker with the numbers.

Here is the code for the counter on my index page, which is located at http://dreadhead7.com/index.html

<img src="/cgi-sys/Count.cgi?df=index.dat|display=Counter|ft=6|md=5|frgb=100;139;216|dd=A">

What part of this code indicates the actual page count? Or does it work that way? When I last checked a few minutes ago, the count indicator on that page said 108.

Thanks in advance!

Don't know if you already tried this:

Goto the CPanel > CGI Center > Counter

Then, you'll see an "Edit/Reset a Counter" section. You'll have to enter your counter's name (index.dat   according to the code you gave) in the "Counter's name" field, and the new count you want to have in the "New Count" field.

Hope it helps!  Razz

Thanks, but I tried that, and it failed. That's why I asked the question here.
