A week or two ago my counter had 2000 hits. My website has been up for 6 months, so those hits are from over that period. Now today I looked and it has 6000 hits! How did this happen? I think it's unlikely that I got those in such a short time. Could it be the counter?

Counters are notoriously unreliable. Check your web stats in Webalizer in Cpanel.

The many options included with the Count.cgi server side script are great, however for some reason the Safari version 1.0 browser can only display default values for all of the options offered and resets to 0 each time the browser cache is cleared. It is not able to read the database holding the options and current count it appears.

Correction to my earlier post: The Safari ver. 1.0 browser does not reset to zero each time the cache is cleared. It however, does not adopt the specified starting count.  Embarassed
