I am attempting to create an FTP for a client to drop material to us. I created the account abc@xyz.com with an 8 alpha numeric password but when I test logging in i get a 530 Login authentication failed error. I have tested with Filezilla and ClassicFTP with same result. I have tried setting up a couple with same results. I must be missing something obvious? Confused

When you create an FTP account in Cpanel, the full username is username@primarydomain.com (the main domain used for the account). Are you entering the full username in this format as you see it in FTP Manager?

When I create the account in cpanel I am making the login just "xxx" which cpanel automatically populates the same into the directory field. I add a password 'yyy123yy' and it successfully creates the account. When I try to access thru filezilla I make the host xxx@ibexspots.com and the user name 'xxx' password 'yyy123yy'. 530 error. I have also tried to make host just ibexspots.com username 'xxx@ibexspots.com and the password. same error.

Tried to attach pdf of the response I am getting from filezilla, but you system says upload directory not writable.

Try this:

Hostname: yourdomain.com or servername.lunarpages.com (Change to your domain or server name. If you are on a Windows server and have purchased a dedicated IP, use the dedicated IP.)
Username: your account username (no @primarydomain.com)
Password: your account password
Passive FTP: ON for linux accounts, OFF for Windows accounts

If that doesn't work, put in a support ticket, and our support guys and gals will see if they can recreate the issue, and then get if fixed up.  Thumbs Up
