I am using Crystal FTP Pro. I keep getting these two errors (not at the same time, only when I try various addresses): 500 Host not found (Winsock error #11001) Unable to login on server.
500 ESocketException: connect: WSocketResolveProto: Cannot convert protocol 'tcp', Error #11004 Unable to login on server. I know my username and password are fine b/c I have connected successfully through Dreamweaver MX FTP. Here is a list of addresses I put in (ive tried on port 20 and 21): rskod.com http://www.rskod.comhttp://rskod.comhttp://zelter.lunarpages.com/~rskod02This also includes all the passive modes ( / ) Help... When you visit http://zelter.lunarpages.com/~rskod02 it brings up an error message.

Are you using asp or php? ftp.rskod.com produces the same error: 500 ESocketException: connect: WSocketResolveProto: Cannot convert protocol 'tcp', Error #11004 Unable to login on server. I'm not truely understanding what you mean by asp or php. Yes, I know what they are, just not understanding where this would ocme into play and how I'd identify if I am using asp or php.

You don't need to have anything else checked. Your ftp program should connect to the correct port, which is 21. Try that, and see what happens.

Try your IP Address for the "host" and see if this connects --> 216.193.202.224

You say that you can connect via Dreamweaver, so you have the correct username and password I assume. Yet, http://zelter.lunarpages.com/~rskod02/ give server error. Hmmm, you might need to contact tech support on this issue.

It worked fine before I reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition. Not really sure why it would make a difference on the OS. Just a minor thought.
Thank you all for your support on this. I will contact tech support and see if I can get any further with this. If you have any more suggestions, please continue posting them as I will come back to this thread on a regular basis.

Also, when I use --> ftp.rskod.com
I get an error that says: cPanel: There is no website configured at this address.
Did you get an email from LP regarding your server being moved to SAN or something of that nature recently? Cuz, your server may be undergoing some kind of conversion at the moment.
In any case, yes you should contact support and let them know.

Too be honest, I'm not quite sure if I recieved an email. It is quite possible that I did and either mislooked it and removed it, or payed no attention to it (unlikely but could happen). How long does a conversion usually take? If it doesn't take long, then I may just wait another few days or a week and go at this again.

Well I did a search for "zelter" to see if anyone else is experiencing your problem, but all I could find were a few members who are experiencing email delays.
So, doesn't look like anyone is having that same problem as you. Some of us on Valina had some of your problems a while back when we got converted over to SAN, thus I was wondering if the same was happening to you on Zelter.
But, many of us posted, thus we could verify that something was going on.
Best thing for you to do is to put in that support ticket anyway, and if it clears on its own then great and you can cancel the ticket, but if not at least your support ticket will be in to resolve you faster in the case where yours is an isolated issue.

Bother, LP is realy irritating me. Their damn support ticket form doesn't god damn work. Every time I click submit it says error: please specify how did you hear about us... (yes, I filled this part out).
*sigh* Only with LP... only with LP...
I suppose I'll have to email them.
Sorry for the language, getting really aggravated with this ftp login and LP in general :p
