I am hoping someone can help me here - I am quite frustrated with an issue I am having on one of my sites.

I run two eGroupware-based websites. One for testing purposes on the other hosting company.com and one I intend to use for my family on

lunarpages.com. the other hosting company works fine.....

However, my site on lunarpages is another matter. The problem is, email is impossible to get working consistently on

lunarpages.com. I have had it working under IMAP configuration and POP3 configuration - but it stopped for no apparent

reason. Basically, I get returned an error page from IE6 or from Firefox I get a reloaded current page.

Following that, I rebuilt the site and tried again (actually the fourth time!). When that failed to work, I sent an email to

lunarpages email forum to clarify a few issues - just to make sure that my settings were correct.

This is the gist of my email:

===============================

I am trying to set up egroupware (www.egroupware.org) on apollo. I currently run it on the other hosting company for a different website.

The problem is, the IMAP [and POP3] enabled email package that comes with egroupware only works intermittantly. None of the standard logs show any issues.

So, to help me, can you answer some questions?
Are my php log files available? I am interested in the files for the last two hours. (hope this message is time stamped)
Are there any PHP/IMAP changes happening at the moment?
What type of IMAP server do you use?
Is the smtp server on port 25?
What is the IMAP port? 143?
What is the POP3 port? 110?
Is TLS encryption/authetication used?

Hope you can help

This was their reply

===============================

Hello,

We do not have any PHP log files available for customer viewing. Also, we aren't doing any changes to the IMAP server.

We use the IMAP server that comes with cPanel, version 4 revision 1.

SMTP is on port 25 and requires explicit authentication. IMAP is on port 143 and uses IDENTD on port 113. POP3 is port 110.

Regards,

Egw is very tolerant of settings etc, and everything was set up correctly.  The egw community have other users using cPanel on other sites - with POP3 - so where is this inconsistancy coming from?

Help and advise welcomed. Happy to work through this.  Ideally I would like to continue with lunarpages and egw.

Cheers

Chris
