With Fantastico, will the SQL databases required for some of the apps be free, or will we have to pay for them?

If we have to pay for the dBs, how about a 30 free trial plan where we can install the modules to evaluate them?

I believe a how-to is being written to explain how you can use just one DB for any/all the scripts.

Each additionial dB costs $1/month, paid in a lump sum for the remainder of your term. As skeetley said you could try to get around it by using one dB.

Also, when you order additional dB(s), the satisfaction guarantee will apply, so you can cancel within 30 days.

a 'how-to' is necessary?  What more can/needs to be done other than careful table naming?  If there's lots more to it then I will be very interested in reading this how-to myself!!!  Surprised

Yeah I know, that came off real snippy which is why i added the 'if there is, I want to read it bit'  heheheh  I'm not used to being regarded as an adept web designer you know!

I forget... I took a database administration course earlier in the year... I've been working with DB for so damn long it's pretty disgusting.

Yeah, get Fantastico on phoenix too!!  I wanna use this PHProjeckt stuff.

That's why dB table renaming is so easy for you. Smile Thumbs Up Some people cannot get to that point without help. You have an advantage since you know so much about dB admin. I would like to learn more so I could do it more easily. Having learned to work with dBs had helped me in being a more effective web site designer.

Any chance someone could do a beginner howto on how to run one Db for the scripts in question.  I know that this was talked about earlier in the thread but im just jumping on and waiting for it.  It would be great to be able to add features to my sub-domains without having to pay for more db usage.

Thanks.

I understand how you can install applications into one MySQL database, and I know how to manualy install them.  But from an experienced webmasters point of view, fantastico makes the installation much quicker, and EASY to test out applications.  Is there anyway to tell fantastico to put it into the one database, and tell it what table prefix to use?

Thanks,
~David
