Since the new Cpanel v3 I am not able to see my .htaccess files. in the file manager. They showed up fine in v2

is there an option somewhere to enable viewing hidden files.??

When you go into the (new) File Manager, on the first popup, check "show hidden (dot) files". Or just use the Legacy File Manager -- it's much better.

ahh. i should probably read a popup before clicking through it. I am using the Legacy File Manager, but you have to check the "show hidden (dot) files" box on it too

Really? I've never seen any "show hidden/dot files" choice on the Legacy file manager. It shows .htaccess to me by default. The new (non-Legacy) file manager has a popup asking where you want to start, and it includes a checkbox for "show hidden files". I don't use the non-Legacy file manager.

The legacy manager looks a little different than it used to, but it works the same...I do see my (dot) files now.

I checked the "skip this question...." box, and now i just go straight into the Legacy manager. Thumbs Up

One thing i noticed about the new File manager is the ability to compress(zip) a file or folder. Legacy just lets you unzip. that could be helpful. but i still like Legacy better.

Odd. I get that pop-up on the new File Manager (it says, "File Manager Directory Selection"). On the Legacy File Manager, it goes straight to the top level directory and file listing (as any FM should). I don't need the brain-dead hold-me-by-both-hands new FM -- it's for people with brains rotted by years of Windows use. I'm happy with the Legacy model, although I'll have to check out the ability to zip files on the new FM.

Possibly you got the popup once in the past before and chose the "Skip this question...." option?  (only thing I can think of)
