I saw those posts about Cron backups, I dont know if I am advanced enough to figure that out yet. I dont mind doing the manual backup myself but I had a question. I see on cPanel it has an option titled "backup" and under this backup option I can easily download the MySQL Databases, and I also saw one option titled "Home Directory" which is great but on my site I have some media files and other stuff I stored just for myself, like a backup to stuff I have on my home computer. I would hate to keep including those in the Home Directory backup since it will take longer to download every time. Can I just backup folders/directories individually? I have 3 separate Drupal sites under 1 domain, if one of them crashed I would hate to have to restore all 3. So cant I just backup Drupal site #1 along with Drupal MySQL Database #1 separately from the other 2? Then do the same for the others?

If so what is the easiest way to do the backups of individual folders on my computer? Let me know if this is correct: I go under File Manager in cPanel, then select the folder/directory I want backed up, then hit compress, then choose tar, or zip, etc, then when its zipped I hit the download button and that's it. Then I guess if I have to restore that directory, I upload that zip file, then unzip it in FTP or under File Manager after its uploaded.

As for the MySQL Databases, I believe I can backup and restore them under the "backup" option in cPanel. Let me know if I got this right, I dont mind doing it in cPanel for awhile till I am more comfortable with shell access. I am new to using Drupal and in the past for my static pages I would simply just upload them (the .htm pages) but now I have to make sure these backups are being done right.

thanks.

For the MySQL databases, I am sure that you must backup and restore them under the "backup" option in cPanel. Hm, obviously you unzip your zip file and then you can find it i a way in your file manager system. Otherwise, you can also try to use CATALOG command for manual backups and restore your file. Hopefully, you might get a solution in this way.
