Domain Alias permissions
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:49:32 PM »
Hi Guys
I have a domain and a domain alias on my dedicated server. I need a PHP script I'm using to be able to access files from a path on the domain when it's browsed from the domain alias
i.e. my primary domain is abc.com.au, my alias is abc.co.nz
I want to browse abc.co.nz/blah.php and have it be able to read and write to /var/www/vhosts/abc.com.au/httpdocs/
How can I do this? I dont want to mess around with httpdocs permissions, so I wonder if there's a more secure and standard way to do this?
Many thanks in advance

Lucas

Hi Lucas,

I am sorry, but I don't see any issues in your situation. Isn't domain alias just another domain name pointing to the same place as the main domain? Basically this means that the script in the URL of alias domain will be executed in the same path and with the same permissions as if it was run on the main domain. Please correct me if I got you incorrectly.
Kind Regards,
