I would like to know the specific / underlying restrictions we are forced into by Lunarpages regarding email marketing on a dedicated server.

I want to be as humanly responsible as possible but also need to evaluate my options.

Thanks,
George

Hi George,

If we receive spam complaints from an organization like AOL, SpamCop or others, we must take action to warn the customer about these complaints so they do not continue to occur.  Our upstream provider will not allow us to host someone who receives continual spam complaints as this affects the entire IP network.  Because we do care about users having non-blacklisted email services, we must take action if we receive too many complaints for spam on any server.

If you have any specific complaints for your account, you can call or email us about this issue to discuss it with us so that we would be able to provide any personal details we might have on the complaint such as what email or what provider issued the complaint against the mailing.

Please let us know if you have other questions on this as well.

Thanks.

Thanks for the insightful reply Danielle.

I have systematized my scripts to gather extra information
from subscribers like log files, IP address etc.

Can we change the Reverse DNS info so we avoid any
impending problems from such organizations?

Any ideas?

I have sites on other US servers and never had any issues
with AOL or "Spamcop" - I value the quality of the LP service
and I think, you should better FIRE AOL or Spamcop rather
your revenue.

Just in case, if you ever have problem or issue with my server's
marketing activity, I'd appreciate to leave enough time for me
to respond, or act accordingly.

I think that it's almost hilarious that medium / big sized outfits
succumb in threats & rules set-forth by indirect competitors.

Yours,
George
