Hello,

I am inclined to go Dedicated II. However, I want to have following:

  • Fully Managed ( I won't change any of the config)
  • I need a WHM so I can create account (cpanels) for my clients
  • I need cpanel branding
  • 2-5 dedicated IPs for my private nameservers

I want to be able (with no problems) to resell accounts to my customers. Dedicated II cost $130 and I think I need cpanel for ~35/month and ~40 for managing the server and probably 26/month for dual core which makes it $231.

Can someone elaborate further and and guide me to the right track.

Hello Ozzy Pal,

I think the next step you would take is contacting dedicated support by emailing dedicated@lunarpages.com. Unfortunately, there is no fully managed dedicated server offer at this moment, but since you are wanting cPanel, server administration is very easy through it and almost all necessary things can be accomplished via web interface of WHM. You would also consider the Managed Intense addon that will help to keep your server secure and accessible all the times. The details on our managed addons can be found at

Hmm, the definition of fully managed is confusing to me. Can some define for me.

I just some to update security and manage upgrades and when is the server is down, s/he can bring it up. That's all. I don't want to rent a server that when it goes down no one knows about it.

My definition of managed is this:
1. Security updates
2. Upgrades, if needed.
3. Monitor the server if it goes down and requires rebooting then it is done.

Hi OOzy Pal,

At my understanding, fully managed means a service where you tell what you want to be done on your server to the person or organization you pay it for and they handle this request as well as perform regular server maintenance and monitoring operations.

Concerning your requirements, Managed Intense addon can suit your needs:

1. Security updates and 2. Upgrades, if needed. -- Security notifications and upgrades of important server components (kernels, apache, php and control panels) as per request are included in the addon.
3. Monitor the server if it goes down and requires rebooting then it is done. -- This is included in monitoring as a part of the addon as well.

I have "managed intense" plan included with my dedicated sever and I have no problems with updates.  Its worth it!
