Hello,

I'm currently using a LP Dedicated Host and am setting up my backup policies.

In the event of hardware failure: power supply, cpu, etc., what is the monitoring policy and general time of service restoration?

Also, in the event of storage failure, are the hard drives themselves imaged or raided in some way?

If I'm backing up locally, that should protect me in the event of data corruption, but I'm wondering what would happen in the event of a total disk failure.

Thank you

If you purchased any of Managed addons, your server is added into the internal monitoring system of Lunarpages. This means your server is monitored by sysadmins on duty who will know about the failure almost immediately after it happens. Then, it is usually required up to two hours to localize the failing hardware and replace it.  Without the managed addon, we can't know about server failure until we get contacted.

There is only one hard drive in the server by default, so there no any fault tolerance setup like image or raid. If you purchase additional hard drive, you can setup something like that.

If there is a hard drive failure on the server and it is impossible to boot, the drive usually gets setup as the second drive and a replacement drive gets installed as the master one. Then, if it is possible to import the data from the failed drive, everything gets setup on the new one as it was before the failure. Otherwise, you get the server like it was provided to you at the beginning for backups restoration.

I hope this helps with your questions, please advise if you have more of them.
