Hello dear LP people,

Would a dedicated server boost performance if somehow log file processing (statistics) was terminated? I presume that disk space would also free-up considerably.

I use scripts to monitor traffic and if there's a true merit in getting some workload off the server, that would be fantastic. Basically, I want to lighten up Apache the maximum possible.

Thanks for the steadfast support as always.

In WHM, you can turn off statistics in "Tweak Settings" and also from the Cpanels depending on the setup.

In Webmin, I'm not totally sure but if it can be disabled in the web interface or not, but if it can't, you could remove the cron job that runs it which would stop it.

You might want to use "top" to check out the CPU usage when the stats are running, most of the time the performance hit isn't too bad.
