Okay I am trying to publish my site and yes i have watchted the tutorial MULTIPLE times.....On the right hand side where I try to connect to the local host is it not available and whenever I try to checkout which I think is publishing or something it says "Cannot display the remote folder. The system cannot find the file specified. Make sure the remote folder is available or select a different one by clicking Manage Sites. To try again click the refresh button in the files panel." Can somebody help me out and tell me how to publish in DW MX 2004? I just got Studio MX 2004 and I am new at this....I was using FP 2003 earlier.... Embarassed

Have you defined you site correctly?  Your host should be set to yourservername.lunarpages.com  and to publish your site you use the "put" button.  Check in/out is a feature to prevent others from working on the same file at the same time when you have a shared environment.

Okay now I know what you mean but now when I try "put" it says "An ftp error occured - cannot make connection to the host. The remote host cannot be found." Please tell me how to fix this......DW is soo much harder to use than FP 2003.....I wish this transition was easy.......thanks for any help!  Confused   Sad

confused, if you get that error on "put" , it means a setting is still wrong somewhere.  Don't fret, DW is waaaaay better than FP.  It just takes a few days to find your way around.  I recommend do the tutorials in the 'help' section of DW.  Anyway, here is this:
Replace abante with whatever you server's name is
Replace confused2 with whatever your CPanel username is
Replace ******** with whatever your CPanel password is

How do I know my server name? Is it like my domain or does it tell me in the welcome email?

Everything in that screenshot looks the same as mine except the FTP host........

Thanks for your help skeetley! Applause almost there!

I assume we are talking about http://www.friendzforever.net/ here right?  In which case where my example says abante.lunarpages.com you should have apollo.lunarpages.com as it looks to me like you are on apollo.  Am I right?

Try Crtl+Shift+F12  this should open your ftp log at the bottom of your screen.  Try and put something to your site and have a look what shows up in that window.  Bad username, bad password, etc.

Hi,

Additionally, you could use friendzforever.net instead of apollo.lunarpages.com for the FTP Host if your domain name is pointing to us already.  I would suggest doing this actually as it is more stable and less likely to change.

Thanks.
