When I set up the Mysql connection to database, I have got this error: HTTP Error code 404 File Not Found. Here are some Possible reasons for the problem. 1. There is no testing server running on the server machine. 2. The testing server specified for this site doesn't map to the http://www.vicvegasphotography.com/_mmserver Scripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Verify that the URL prefix maps to the root of the site. Is anyone familiar with this problem in Dreamweaver MX 2004? Any input is appreciated. Beckmann

Hi Beckmann, Please follow this tutorial by TWebMan on setting up a connection in Dreamweaver for MySQL: http://twebman.lunarpages.com/mm/dw/remotemysql/You likely did not setup the testing server, which needs to be done first before the other steps. Thanks.

Sorry. I have to tell you that my setting is correct which I followed what you said. But I still got the error message when I tried to connect to Mysql from the database tab in the application panel. Is there something I am still missing? Thanks.

Hi Beckmann,
A few things to check:
- Did you add the database user to the database? In Cpanel's MySQL area, you create a database, then create a user, then you have to add the user to the datbase. Please provide your Cpanel username if you want us to check if you have done this.
- Did you add the % wildcard for Access Hosts in Cpanel's MySQL database area? This is needed so that your local computer can connect to the database as you aren't making an actual local connection but a remote connection and your computer IP will be denied otherwise.
- Are you using the full database name and full database username for the fields in Dreamweaver? The full database and full database username have Cpanelusername_ at the beginning of them (replace Cpanelusername with your Cpanel username)
Thanks.

Hi The first question is that I don't understand why I need to create a user and add the user to the database. My domain is: symphonyimage.com and my database is symphon1_gardenclub, I just don't understand why pagegarden put the gardenclub after symphon1_?After I added the user " begeiste ", it comes like:symphon1_begeiste. My database is hosted by pagegarden, not here. What should I provide to you to solve my problem? Please let me know. Thanks alot.
Beckmann.

Hi,
So basically you are not a Lunarpages customer asking for hosting assistance on Lunarpages forum? If so, I am not certain how we could really figure it out because we know our own plans and Cpanel not that of other hosting companies...
Thanks

I am your customer. My domain is : lipchip.com. User ID Lipchip2, I am not convenient to tell you what is password from here. But it doesn't have any problem. The problem that I have is not hosting here. But if you cann't help, I don't mind at all, since it is business. I understand it. But I appreciate what you've done for me. Beckmann Hi,

I believe the confusion is coming from your statement that the databse is not hosted with LunarPages. The instructions, tutorials, etc. are all (probably) based on the assumption that the database is one included with your account and running on the lunarpages server along with the rest of your account. As such, I'm not sure how much help can be given by people who don't know about the setup of the host where the database is located.
The one thinig I can offer, which might or might not be helpful, if your pages are on a lunarpages and the database is housed somewhere else, then "localhost" is not what you'll need to use. Instead you'll need to use the name of the host where the DB is stored. Also, the username/password have to be ones that have access to the DB...
