I was having trouble with TFmail and used Steven's great tutorial and expertise.

My trouble was Dreamweaver MX200r based. I  found that most FTP programs offer you three options:
1.. Auto Detection (allowing the program to decide)
  2.. ASCII Mode (text)
  3.. Binary Mode (images)

Auto Detection will work fine for most files but usually does not work well for scripts. Many FTP programs, that upload files with .cgi or .pl extensions, will upload them in binary mode and this causes the script to be broken. When you are uploading a script via FTP simply make sure that you have chosen to upload in ASCII and do not allow the program to decide this for itself.

Soooo, I contacted a friendly neighbor who is a Certified Macromedia Developer (Murray Summers) and he told me:

"As far as I know, DMX2004 does not alter the scripts in any way, but uploading them in the wrong format might certainly cause the file  size to change.

Earlier versions of DW would allow you to give a command line trigger causing the FTP to upload in ASCII, but I think that is gone in DMX2004 (not sure why).  But try this - find the file called FTPExtensionMap.txt in the Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration folder, and add PL as an ASCII extension (make a backup first of course).  Then close and restart DW and see if that works."

So I went to the mentioned file and noticed that there was no provision for PL so I added as PL ASCII.

I now can easy make the TFmail forms
