I'm new to this store design stuff and am using OSCommerce.  My store sells (or will sell) books and I'd like to give the user the option to browse alphabetically.  When they select this option I'd like the letters of the alphabet to appear in the middle of the web page, not as a subcategory to "browse by Alphabet" which appears on a table to the left.  I haven't been able to figure this out yet.  Is this a database entry (mysql), shopping cart mod, or just links I need to add to my web page?  Anybody have any ideas.

thanks!

You could do it as links on your page but it could also be done via a mod to a shopping cart script... several ways to go about it really I would think. It would probably need to link in some way to a database that would supply the entries that begin with a selected letter... which actually makes me wonder something about the browse by alphabet option. Is it alphabetical by title of the book? alphabetical by author? alphabetical by subject? I guess I'm just unsure of what "by alphabet" is exactly referring to...

alphabetical by title, though now that you mention it, browse by author would be nice too.
