I've have several web sites one of them for a number of years. I also set up some basic sites for my husband. He's now going to really expand what he's doing and needs a lot more from his web sites. I don't have time to do it unless I quit my own business and he want someone who he can yell at if things go wrong.  Grinning

So he was looking at web designers and hosts and I was trying to stay out of it but I had to jump in today. I checked the company he was ready to sign with. Customer reviews and top 10 host lists did not give me any comforting news about this company. So I showed him and he and his new business partner want me to help them at least find someone.

I use lunarpages for my host and that's where their pages are at this time too. We would want to set up a second account for them though, and move their pages to it. Which shouldn't be any problem. What he's looking for are first he's really into getting in to Google AdWords, and wants someone who's familiar with using to set him up and top on his search.

He'll need someone to make a nice layout and design, basically the 2 main sites will be for a music agency and piano sells. There will be quite a few products and they'll be accepting credit cards so the designer will have to be able to set up all of that sort of thing too. They will also have several video's they will want on the site. They both have a very Italian business since so, they will very much expect whatever is agreed upon to be delivered as agreed and on time.

And as another big kicker in this they're in a hurry. My husbands partner is coming for dinner tomorrow night (Wednesday) and I said I would have some options for them. I think they would have been very disappointed with the designer/hosts they were going to go with so hopefully you can all help me find someone good for them quickly.

I will be taking the photos for them. The final prototype will hopefully be finished this week and they will want the products up immediately so this is all going to be quite a lot of work and first and quite involved and time consuming.

Perhaps just having Lunarpages do the site is the best option but I think they will really need to work with one person and I'm not sure how that all works. They will have specific needs and I'd like to find them someone that will give them and their businesses individual attention.

Anyway as many ideas, help, comments, offers as possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smile

Thanks. I sent him the URL also. He's looking at the different designs now. For a fast set up unless someone else jumps in and offers something else I'll probably try to steer him in that direction. He's looking at the pro III or maybe something kind of ala carte with a business hosting, which is what I have. Though about the first comment he had was that he didn't see anything that said you could help him with the adwords.  They're really obsessed with this. I keep telling them just put some money in and see what happens, it's like an auction. Smile

I do feel kind of bad for not doing the pages for him but he's going to need a lot more than I'll have time for, and I'm hoping we can find someone that can do a better job for him. I have 5 URLs myself that I write in text, write and do photos for an aquarium magazine, and have about 80 tanks and sell antiques and things on eBay. We have 4 boys the 2 youngest are autistic and I finally have the oldest son out of the house and the other 3 in school so I'm trying to do a lot of expansion in my own work. He's starting 2 new business, kind of bigger better expansions of what he was doing and the new piano shells. They already have orders and they haven't gotten the final prototype done. I did get a slight extension on finding them a web designer though. They have to meet with the patent attorneys again and the manufacturers tomorrow so we're having dinner on Saturday instead. Honestly with all they're doing I think they're just going to need more and more web services with time.

Hey gupp,

It just so happens I'm an out of work Web Developer (not much going on in my local area Bournemouth, UK) so if you're interested in hiring someone then please consider me. I've read the brief from above and it seems you want something developed pretty quick.

Well, I'd recommend a modified version of the WordPress CMS (complete with approved template by your husband) with an eCommerce plugin. That way your husband could manage his online presence and keep track of orders himself and it would enable me to concentrate on his Google Adwords campaign. I'm hardworking and can totally put the needs of your husband first even though I live in the UK.

I'm online for a ridiculous amount of time each day and you can contact me on Skype (julianmoors) or Windows Messenger (julianmoors@hotmail.com).

Anyway if you'd like to know more about me then please head over to www.julianmoors.co.uk.

Love to hear from you soon gupp.

Regards

Julian
