I must have messed up my htacess file with a rewrite i did (made it always go to "https://" when you type in the site name)

I get the blue first page, but cant go any further - it goes to a 401 page  ("https://tonisspecialtyshop.com//401.shtml")

any idea of what it would be that I threw out of wack?

I would remove the redirect. Oscommerce has settings to tell it when to go to https for security and it is not necessary to have all pages be secure. Oscommerce secures logins and checkout.

thanks, will give it a shot tomorrow - it seems I've messed things up further by tinkering with it! sigh - getting an error message, setting permissions to 444 and 644 and still getting the bad news!
