Hello fellow Lunar users,

I am trying to figure out how the best way for me to go about adding a blog to my  osC website is; and I was sincerely hoping that some of you would be gracious enough to share with me you experience and expertise on the matter.

Does it make a difference whether I use blogger or wordpress for the blog (using a different template for it)? Overall, how difficult of a process would you say it is to install a blog into osC? Any pointers you can give? Are you aware of any good tutorials or instructions on the matter?

thanks,

Victor

I would consider going with something like WordPress.  There is plenty of support for it out there, the design and templates  based around it is awesome, and it is one of my favorite tools to use.

Install any blogware into its own directory (public_html/blog/) so that it doesn't quarrel with osCommerce. osC should have been installed into its own directory (public_html/store/), but if you already installed it into the root (public_html/) don't worry about it.

In osCommerce, look around in column_left.php for a place to add a link to your blog and add code similar to what's produced by includes/boxes/information.php. In your browser, you can view the page source and write a similarly-styled link. That will give you a link to your blog. Presumably you can do something similar in your blog code to bring you back to osC.
