I have a friend that has bought a copy of X-Cart and registered for his hosting here at LP. Well, I have the task of setting up the cart and so forth but now have found that he will need the dedicated IP addy as well as a personal cert due to the fact his cart is php based. He did not know this at the time so now I am looking for options.

Can he use Paypal to accept payments (he has the Pro account I think) without having to worry about the cert thing or dedicated IP?

I am not that familier with shopping carts to say the least so I am looking for answers from those well versed in them.  Thumbs Up

He is wanting to get set up but the additional costs were a suprise.

I have only used x cart for a little while( have since dumped it) but if I am not mistaken I think all shopping carts need a dedicated IP for certs..shared ssl will not work or modifications are needed.He does not need a ssl or dedicated Ip for paypal.IMO should have went with oscommerce so many more free mods that can be easily done.
