Hi

I have been using a blackberry with lunarpages for about three years. However I have switched cellphone service provider and attempted to register my email address with this device and was unable to connect to the mailserver.

I have registered with the BIS of the cellphone provider and accessed the browser based setup wizard from my PC. I have downloaded the pc scanner which blackberry provides and this is also unable to set up the system.

I have called the support of my cellphone provider (O2 in the UK) and they have run through ta few options with me which included sucessfully adding a new email address to the device. Their take on the situation is that as I have added an address then it is not their system which is at fault and that I should take the issue up with the host.

In a fit of frustration I temporarily reactivated my old device and am experiencing the same problem.

The error message I get from BIS is 'Cannot connect to the email server or invalid server name, Please verify the server name. If the error persists contact... (your email provider)'

For the avoidance of doubt I have attempted both mail.mydomain.mydomain extension and vertez.fastsecureservers.com - the server which my domain is hosted on as well as the username with an @ and a + and none of this has worked.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

James

Hi James

Did you get anywhere with your issue? I have the exact same problem but with Vodafone, cannot activate an email account that was working before.

Would appreciate any info youve got.

Thanks
