I just got an e-mail bounced back with the following message:

The information presently available to AOL indicates this
server is generating high volumes of member complaints from AOLs
member base.  Based on AOLs Unsolicited Bulk E-mail policy at
http://www.aol.com/info/bulkemail.html AOL may not accept further e-mail transactions from this server or domain.  For more information
please visit http://postmaster.info.aol.com.

I am on Saturn, and I do not send spam but my domain has been spoofed in the past. What can I do?

Hi Aimee,

You would send this information to support@lunarpages.com with the full header and an explanation that your receive a bounced message from AOL.  Include your domain name in the email as well, and we will look into the matter.

Thanks

A further datapoint: One of my clients is reporting that AOL is bouncing mail coming from danzig.lunarpages.com. I've notified support@lunarpages.com, but wanted to post here also to let folks know about it.

Hi pimpsuit,

Is the danzig bounce still occurring? AOL had put a soft block on danzig for an exploited script used as a spam relay on a customer's account there, and the block was supposed to last 48 hours.  It should have expired yesterday.

Thanks

I'm told by support@lunarpages.com that AOL has "soft blocked" mail from jupiter, danzig, sirius, and saturn. AOL soft blocks last around 48 hours and the support person indicated that the block began last night, so it sounds like we won't be able to send mail to AOL addresses for at least another 24 hours.

Unfortunately, some lunarpages.com customers had exploitable mail forms on their webpages, and somebody took advantage of that to send a lot of mail, some of which must have triggered AOL's blocking. There's nothing that can be done. AOL is the big boy on the block and does whatever they want.

Disclaimer: I'm not a lunarpages.com staff person. I'm just repeating what the support people told me, along with some conjecture based on my own experience.
