I'm not sure of the termology for this stuff, so please excuse my newbiness...:p

I would like to be able to have e-mails which are addressed incorrectly NOT go to my default address.  So any e-mail which is not addressed to one of my LP accounts, I would like those to return to the sender as "Address not valid" or whatever.  Is this possible?

Also, I'm assuming that if you don't enable the Spam Box in Spam Assassin, that those e-mails which are caught are simply deleted.  Is this true?

I mistakingly enabled the Box when I first enabled SA, and realized recently that I had to go in manually thru webmail and delete those messages.  I don't want to have to do that again, so I disabled the Box, but it's still showing up when I log in thru webmail.  Is there a way I can get rid of it?

I appreciate any and all help on these issues, as you can tell I'm simply trying to do whatever I can to not have to deal with SPAM.  SA works way better than I thought it would, and I'm very happy with it.  If I could just take care of these things I'd be 100% satisfied...Very Happy

Cheers and TIA!  Very Happy

I'm drawing a blank on where you have to enter this, but you can setup how CPanel handles the default address etc. You should be able to set the ones that do not have a vaild address to:

:fail:

or you can use
:blackhole:
which wiill just make them dissappear without anyone getting notified.

Hope that helps,

You set this up in the default address area.  Simply go there and recofigure the default address by selecting the "set default address" link at the bottom.  Pick your domain, subdomain, addon domain, or parked domain in question, then in the empy field enter :blackhole: for them to discard or :fail: for them to bounce.

I hope this helps.

If you don't enable Spam Box, the emails still go to where they were addressed, just that they are either marked in the headers as spam or in the headers plus the subject link begins with "***SPAM***" or whatever you set it as.  If you want them to disappear entirely, you'd need to use the Email Filtering and filter on the Spam Header being Yes.
