Question is pretty much per subject - for years I have simply used the POP3 email that comes with my hosting, but my needs have outgrown what POP3 can do, so I am looking into getting a hosted exchange account (not with LP  Not Me ).  I need to know what the technical steps are to transfer the email hosting from LP to hosted exchange, and continue receiving email to the addresses I have configured for that domain.

I'm not interested in migrating currently stored messages; these I have saved already in Outlook data files so I'm not so concerned about that.

Where would I find those instructions?

Thanks!

Anyone?

Is it as simple as requesting an MX record change? e.g. the instructions here:

Yes. Just email support and include the records you need as well as ownership verification.

Hello,

Switching over from POP3 to MS Exchange is actually fairly easy. There are a couple DNS level changes that need to be made.(Most customer have us hosting DNS services so we would need to make those changes. If by chance you are using Custom Name Servers then this would be managed at your Registrar/DNS Provider. Contacting support (exchangesupport@lunarpages.com) will be best to get all the proper info as we will be able to provide you all the information in case you are using a custom DNS Solution.

Might I also recommend that you connect to the new Exchange account in outlook or on OWA before making the switch so that when email does start flowing that direction you will be familiar with the interfaces.
