Does anyone know why sometimes i get double emails showing up in Outlook?  There's only one email when i on the server when i look in webmail.  It happens to various people using my domain name and at various times.  Seems completely random.

Have you got any forwarders set up?

No, it is happening even if webmail is not being accessed.  Plus when webmail is used, it's neomail and i don't think there's a function in neomail to mark messages that read as unread.

I do have forwarders set up, but the emails that are doubled are not sent to more than one name, therefore the forwarders shouldn't take effect, right?  For example, if an email is sent to alexa@mydomain.com which is set to forward to asmith@mydomain.com, then only one email should arrive at that account, right?

 Confused

monkey, if you have a mailbox setup for alexa AND have a forwarder, then that may be why you are receiving 2 emails.  You might want to remove the mailbox if you are going to keep the forwarder.

Here's a thread where we talk about this problem:

Sorry, I did not explain myself clearly.

There is only 1 email box associated per user.  For example, Alexa Smith only has the email box asmith@mydomain.com.  alexa@mydomain.com is just a forwarder.  I believe that the double downloaded emails are happening consistently, meaning that it doesn't discriminate whether the email was sent to alexa@mydomain.com or asmith@mydomain.com.

Suggestions?  Question

Do you use "message rules" in your email client?

Once I accidentally check marked the "copy to folder" instead of "move to folder" option, thus was getting double emails for that particular email addy which I did the message rule for.

Reading your first post, it doesn't sound like this may be the case, but thought it wouldn't hurt to mention it.

Anyway, after this suggestion, I'm clueless what else it could be.
