Hi,

I'm on the server chiron and using chiron.lunarpages.com as my smtp host, also pop host, I am unable to send email. I get the error " Could not connect" "cause: Connection refused".

I receive emails with no problem. I've also tried to use mail.robwatson.com , my domain name is robwatson.ca, but I get the same respose.

This isn't a bigie as I can just use my ISP's smtp server but I'm a little curious as to what the problem might be.

I'm using Eudora, latest version, as my emial client.

Thank's,

Rob

Hi Rob,

The issue could simply be that your ISP doesn't allow outgoing SMTP servers other than theirs to be used.  Many ISPs have begun to do this such as cox.net and Earthlink.  If this is the case, you will need to continue using your ISP for the outgoing server.  Other reasonse for the issue might be that you don't have "my outgoing server requires authentication" checked.  I am not sure where that would be located in Eudora (I use Outlook), but there should be a place somewhere to enable authentication.

I hope this helps.

Thank's Danielle,

I'm on NBNet DSL and that's probably what the problem is. I don't really mind actually..I was just curious.

Thank's for the quick response.
