I felt this must have been asked before but I searched for "IMAP", "IMAP SETTINGS" and "IMAP THUNDERBIRD" and didn't see any threads that seemed like an obvious choice.
I installed the latest version of Thunderbird at work and I am trying to configure a new account to point to my lunarpages account. Lunarpages does have a help page for doing this but it seems to be grossly out of date - the account setup page I am looking at in Thunderbird contains many more fields than those listed on the help page. The information being initially requested is:
Your Name
Email address
Password
Those three are easy enough.
Thunderbird tries to do something automatically but I just click on Manual Config (automatic config fails). Now I am being asked for this information:
Incoming : IMAP : server hostname, Port, SSL ,Authentication
Outgoing : SMTP : server hostname, Port, SSL, Authentication
Username
For server hostname I have tried mail.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com (obviously replacing "yourdomain" with my actual domain name).
For Port, SSL and Authentication I have left them at Autodetect.
For username I have tried the account name with and without @yourdomain.com
All attempts have failed with, "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account".
Does anyone have more information about this, or a link to a help page that contains the correct information?
Thanks, Max
