Hi All,

Since last night I get this error:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'username@myservercorp.com', Server: 'mail.myservercorp.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I'm on the server named jupiter.

Any clue?

Thanks
marcelo

Hi marcelo,

First of all, was the error when you were trying to send message or receive them, or both?  Next, did you recently install a firewall on your system?  It can block ports 25 or 110, which are needed to do POP3 and SMTP transfer.  Once we know whether it is just sending/receiving or both, we can have a better idea of what is occurring.

Also, I went to the MS knowledge base, and found this useful link for future reference:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q191687

I hope this helps.

Receiving them. No firewall.
I'll check the link for reference.

Now I get this message:
Server: 'mail.myservername.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '501 <AL <al@myservername.com>: "@" or "." expected after "A"', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Now I'm lost !!! Smile

Thanks,

Check the email address your are sending to:

<AL <al@myservername.com>

There is a missing bracket so the server is trying to figure out where the email address is.

Try sending a test message to just

al@myservername.com
without adding the persons name etc.

Re: your original post - It may be because of the Mydoom virus which sends itself over port 25, so many ISPs are temporarily blocking that address in order to slow down its spread.
