That is in relation to scripts running on the server. You can send a BCC email to more than 20 and it will have no problems with that.

BCC is blind carbon copy rather than carbon copy.  A BCC field hides the people listed in that field so that only the original sender of the address can see who received the message.  Whenever you have a long list of people to send a message to, it is always better to use BCC in my opinion.

If you are using Outlook Express or Outlook, those programs do have a help menu, which would include similar information to what I just provided and instructions on how to add the field...

Its more or less the only professional way to send emails out. That way each user thinks that they are the only recipient of the message, instead of seeing all their competitors emails above the message.

It also helps prevent spam harvesting of addresses (many spammers get their names on mass forward lists because everyone uses the To: fields os every forward comes with a couple hundred live emails! Smile

I've not seen this documented anywhere, but there is a post on the forums under the topic: "Sending out emails gradually" quoting LP support as saying there is a 20 per minute limit. That message also suggests the LP buffers the excess and sends them out eventually. So perhaps this is not your problem.

If this limitation is true, it should be in the FAQ.

Yeah... There's also a 400-600 or so hourly limit.

I wouldn't use Outlook Express to send out a distribution of the size indicated on page one.  It's not a big list or anything, but Outlook is much more suited to that sort of thing.

Anything over say 50 or 100 recipients, I would dump them into mailman, send my message, then remove them.  This can make it go more smoothly.

I can't send mail again.  I get the same problem as my first post on this topic last week:

"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server.  Server Response: '550 Authentication turned on in your email client.'
... Error Number: 0x800ccc79"

I'm running on Nebula.  My Authentication settings are not turned on. (and it doesn't work even if it IS on).

What's happening here??
thanks

I am using Outlook Express.  I can mail out of my newly set up account, but it is not receiving mail.  I have tried both directly mailing to the address, as well as replying to a message that has "gotten out."  I have yet to get an error message back that the mail was undeliverable.  I have also checked the webmail, and it is not their either.  Any suggestions?
