I downloaded my e-mails into Outlook as per usual about 7 hours ago, and as I noticed from the subject of one e-mail that it would be a spam mail, I highlighted it and pressed shift+delete to get rid of it... unfortunately Outlook jumped at that point as it was downloading another e-mail, and my action deleted an e-mail -- unfortunately I don't know who it was from, and as I am expecting a number of replies I am very anxious to be able to restore this or at least find out who sent it...

Is there any likelihood of it being available in a backup on lunarpages to re-download? The message would have been there within the last 14 hours, and I'm on the Danzig server... if there is any possibility that it could be retrieved, or even if I could find out who e-mails were sent from to my account in the past 14 hours I would be extremely grateful...

Assistance or information on this would be much appreciated.

You may be able to look at it thru Neomail, Horde, or SquirrelMail (basically, your webmail) since I don't think deleting it on Outlook deletes it from the server. Check your webmail.

Hi Chris@IAYM,

Actually, if you are using POP3 to download mail, Outlook does delete if off the server when it downloads as the default.  IMAP doesn't delete it.  So, it depends on which one you are using.

Next, the only way to restore deleted items in Outlook is if you are using Exchange, since it has this capability of restoring items your have deleted.

Finally, we would not be able to selectively extract an email on the server.  If it was downloaded onto your account and removed by Outlook during the download, it simply wouldn't be on the server anymore.

I apologize that this did happen to you.  It is always a good idea not to use shift+delete for this reason that you don't have a chance to review items sent to delete, since it is a permanent deletion.

I hope this information is helpful.
