Hello,
I am new on lunarpages and I have a problem sending emails through my new server.
I think I configured the SMTP server as required, with mail.mydomain.com and authentification allowed (I am using Eudora 5.1).
I am getting the following error message:
SSL Negociation Failed: Certificate Error: Cert Chain not trusted.  Try adding this certificate to the certificate database for SSL to succeed. Certificate Bad:Destination Host may not match host name in certificate. Cause: (-6995)
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Alain

You have SSL login or authentication set.  You want to unset that.

Or, try changing the mail server to your actual server name.

Hi Alain,

Actually, we no longer recommend using your server for the incoming or outgoing server's name (due to the fact that you may move servers at some point and then have to reset all of your email accounts), so mydomain.com is preferable.  You do not have to use mail.mydomain.com at all as just mydomain.com will work.  Please note that if you have just purchased an account, it will take up to 72 hours for the domain name to be active, so you will not be able to use your mail with the domain name during that time (due to DNS nameserver propagation of the name).

As TWebMan suggested, your error is due to having SSL checked, which you cannot have checked in order for the mail to work.  You do want to check "my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" but you do not want to check SSL authentication (as that is different than the SMTP one).

I hope this helps.

Things are working fine now.
Thanks to you two.
