hello,
newbie here.  just wondering what happens say i want to send out 1,000 emails.  YES, these would be SPAM-FREE emails to an intended audience.
i asked lunarpages support about it and was told:

"We do, however, have a limit of 20 emails per 60 seconds"

Which is fine.  But how do people commonly achieve this?  I will be using PHP/MySQL.  Is this something you have to program PHP to do?  Is it something MySQL will do?  Or does the mail server itself automatically send out the emails at the rate of 20 per minute, meaning I wouldn't have to do anything?

I was told this also from LP tech support:

"I believe the excess will be queued and sent out in bursts per our load limits."

Is this how it works then?  It happens automatically?  I can just set my PHP script to mail 1,000 emails and the server will take care of dispersing them at a rate of 20 per minute?

Don't know about this, but if it's true then you can just send out everything at once and let the servers do the job.  Otherwise, there are some scripts at http://www.hotscripts.com/ that can do what you want.
