Hey all!

Ok I think I got the web mail working (Neomail and some other ones, im still getting used to them, lol) but I can't get it working with Outlook Express. And I did watch the tutorial though.

The tutorial said to use mail.mydomain.com for those pop and smtp (sp?) but the welcome email said this:

POP3 Mail Host: laffan.lunarpages.com
SMTP Mail Host: laffan.lunarpages.com

Which do I put, mail.mydomain.com or laffan.lunarpage.com?

And after that step is the step "internet mail logon". For account name do I put the name I use to sign in to Lunarpages cPanel or the "name"@mydomain.com? And which password do I use, the one I use to logon on LP cPanal or the one I picked for this particular email address?

Thanks for help!  Thumbs Up

Hi tech4all,

For POP3 and SMTP, you can put either laffan.lunarpages.com or mail.mydomain.com for the server.

Next, you would put the full email address (myemail@mydomain.com) for the User Name field in Outlook as well as the password for that email account.  Note, however, that if you are using the default email account (username) that is set up automatically when you create your account, you need to put only the username in the User Name field (so user002 not user002@mydomain.com).  This account is treated differently than the others and will fail if you attempt to use the full email address.

Finally, please make sure you have checked "My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication" in the "More Options" button outgoing server tab.

Finally, if your ISP has any restrictions against using an SMTP server other than their own, you might have to replace the SMTP server with your ISP's server.  You'll know if this is the case if the incoming server passes the check in Outlook but the outgoing fails.

I hope this helps.

I can't do this Miraenda, if I check this box my mail won't work. Does this mean that my connection are being done less secure than they should be?

Hi trey333,

Actually that wouldn't affect security on your end since the authentication is what your ISP uses to determine if the message is being sent by you.  It isn't a secure mode of sending just authentication that reveals the server to the connection, I believe.  Many ISPs won't allow mail to be transmitted without checking this box.  I've never heard of one not allowing mail to be sent if it is checked...

I hope this helps.

It does't effect any incomming mail, I just can't send mail with that box check. The message shows the following:

500 5.5.1 Command unrecognized: "AUTH LOGIN"

Thanks for clearing things up, I'll just leave it unchecked.

You can also use the server addresses Miraenda gave for IMAP
