I've turned on SpamAssassin and enabled the spam box. Is all spam flagged by SA appended to the /mail/spam file? If a user uses an IMAP mail client to view their spam, is IMAP looking at the /mail/spam file and showing the user only the mail specifically addressed to them or is IMAP looking somewhere else?

Hi there, I'm not sure of the actual file structure or folder names, but here's a run down of what happens.  Each mail box obviously has its own folder.  The first time a mailbox receives a mail which SA/Spam Box marks as Spam, SA creates a Spam Box folder within that account's folder.  The mail is added there.

An IMAP client is logged in and is show the folders for that account, and will, once created see their Spam Box.  They will only see their spam box, as each account (mail folder) gets its own Spam Box.

However, if you log into the primary e-mail account (the one with your LP username as the address), you will have access to ALL of the other account's spam boxes.

Hope that's the information you're looking for, or will at least point you in the right direction.
 Very Happy

Thanks for the reply, Hush. With your help and some poking around I think that I've got it figured out.

The primary account's spam file is /home/primary_account/mail/spam. An individual user's spam file is /home/primary_account/mail/domain_name.com/user_name/spam.

Another unrelated but interesting thing that I've noticed is that if I have :fail: set in the default address, mail to primary_account@my_domain.com will bounce. primary_account@lp_server.lunarpages.com still works though.

BTW, all of this spam file path stuff is important to me because I'm going to be writing a script to automatically age and delete spam out of a client's users spam boxes. Thanks again for your help.
