Hello. =)

I really like SquirrelMail, and I want to install some plugins...but I don't know how.  I tried contacting LunarPages about it, and I didn't get a very clear answer.  I think the rep said that I'd have to manually install SquirrelMail somewhere else on my server, in order to use plugins?  Is that correct?:

You may install squirrelmail into your webspace in order to install extra plugins if you require additional plugins. We are not able to install additional plugins into our squirrelmail installation.

If I do need to reinstall SquirrelMail (ie: without using CPanel), what should I do, step by step? And how do I install the plugins? I can't find any instructions specifically for Lunarpages; I've been searching Google for hours.

Please help. Thanks in advance. =(

You will be unable to install plugins on the squirrel mail that is installed by Lunarpages when your account is intiially setup, due to the way that these are setup, and techs are also unable to install the plugins.

If you want to install plugins, you would need to perform your own installation of squirrelmail onto your hosting account.  Once you have your own installation, and have set it up to retrieve your email, you can then setup your own plugins.

Dont quote me, but I believe that setting up your own email program, you will be unable to use the control panel system for setting up email addresses and filtering, since you would be bypassing the Lunarpages install of email programs.
