I am setting up the my email. POP3 works perfectly, but when I try to send it says it can't connect to the SMTP server. Is it down - or does it have some other setting?

Make sure you have enable authentication for SMTP. It will not work otherwise.

Also make sure the domain name has propagated to our servers.. and check if your isp require you to use their smtp server.  Some ISPs make it policy Sad

Aks LP ( support@lunarpages.com ) to see if they could move you to one of the servers which support port 26 SMTP. I think pisces does becuase on the server status pages it says exim-26.

Also, couldn't you just find Cox's SMTP server address and use them?

I believe that most ISP that block port 25 also block port 26 b/c they basically don't allow any outgoing mail that isn't routing through their server.  Cox should definitely have an alternative SMTP address to use to replace the Lunarpages one.  The only ISP that won't provide their outgoing SMTP server address is AOL (since they claim they don't have an outgoing SMTP server even though mail goes out through this nonexistant server all the time).

Thanksfully Comcast allows you to use other SMTP addresses. Will AOL block 26?
