Here is a solution which I had once which caused the "appearance" for my email to look like it was being relayed, and my solution.
I was using Pegusus Mail email client which has many possible ways of being configured but for my "one time" problem that made my email look like it was being forwared was not my email client Pegasus Mail.
Turned out it was my settings for dialup connection. My dialup service provided both the dialup service plus a basic email (common for dialup service package). What was not common for them compared to my prior dialup service of times before, was that they said to specify primary and secondary IP numbers for my dialup service usage with them, so I did. Bingo!... that (without my knowledge) made my email through my domain at Lunarpages look like it was being relayed.
To correct the "erroneous" relay error.... I simply went to my dialup connection (had a few different ones with alternative phone numbers) and "corrected" each one myself.
Check your dialup connection at My Computer, Dial-Up Networking, right click on your dialup service that you use, select Properties, then Server Types, TCP/IP Settings. In that window if "Specify name server addresses" is selected with IP numbers having been entered change it to "Server assigned name server adddresses" (the old specified IP numbers, if they "had been" specified will then be grayed out), then select OK and exit from all that. Be sure to do same to any other dialup connections that you might use.
When I did that change to "Server assigned..." it corrected the problem for where my email appeared to be relayed. Note:.... "most" dialup service says to have that set as "Server assigned...." but some ISP's might say to specify the IP numbers.... that could be needed for using "their" email service, but the "Server assigned name server" (automatic) mode "should" work fine with their email too. Definitely that was a cause for trouble with email at my domain at Lunarpages.
One I had encountered that "relay" problem I soon realized that my diallup service was not "normal" compared to prior dialup service that I had, so I simply made that easy change and it corrected the problem that caused my email to look like it was being relayed.
Hope this helps. Most definitely DO CHECK the dialup networking settings for TCP/IP that it shows as "Server assigned....." and that any IP numbers if specified are grayed out.
Regards,
(PS.... I am not a Lunarpages tech.... just another Happy User at Lunarpages.)
