One of my clients has a problem sending attachements via webmail (using neomail):

Quote
Sorry, your attachments exceed the attachment size limit, which is 2 MB!

How can I change this for him in this case broaden his limit? Since he often needs to send grouped images via webmail, which will exceed 2 mb.

Thnx in advance.

Hi webby,

Nice to see you back posting in the forum cause I love your avatar.  Very Happy

To answer your question, the reason the size of the mail attachment can't go over 2 MB would be if the e-mail account has its size limited to 2 MB.  If you go into CPanel, Mail, Add/Remove Accounts, and increase the quota of that e-mail account, you will then be able to have attachments higher than that.  The mail attachment max size is 10 MB, so you could change the size to 10 MB to benefit from this maximum allowance.

I hope this helps.

Hiya Miraenda,

Thnx for remembering me   Thumbs Up

First of all thanx for your reaction and I'll be posting again very soon. Been working on some sites lately, besides my day job offcourse.

Well the account (www.ignaro.com) allready had 10mb quota when it gave the 2mb error when using the NeoMail webmail. I adjusted it to 30 Mb now to see what happens.

To me it seems like webmail restricts the file attachement size where outlook doesn't. I know because one of my other clients (www.alingo.org) is able to mail large files for their business purposes.

Personally I moved over to lunar since this week (www.xardia.com) but I haven't even had the time to try all these settings on my own account. that's why I posted it here.

I'll get back to the results of the restrictions later on after my client has tested it again in both outlook and neomail.

Thnk You

I believe that for NeoMail, the attachment restriction is configurable outside the account quota.

Unfortunately, this is a "neomail.conf" file change (variable $attlimit) that is most likely only accessible by server admins unless you install your own version manually.

Perhaps an LP server admin/tech can confirm the current attribute setting?

I beleive its a user setting.

It may be a server-side configuration for all NeoMail users. Does this problem occur with the other webmail programs? (You can switch between them at will - it won't loose any data!)

You may want to email support and refer them to the forum thread, and see if its possible a server side setting they would be able to/consider changing for all the users.
