Hi everyone,

Before I open a support ticket I thought I would ask here first.

I have a website. Lets call it www.example.com

I have an email account set up using Google Apps and I have all the appropriate MX entries changed in cPanel. I can send and receive emails using this account without problem. My default email address with Google Apps is admin@example.com and all my staff each have their own email address.

We can all send and receive emails from each and send and receive emails to others outside our domain.

In my cPanel I have my default email address set to admin@example.com:

All unrouted mail will be sent to: admin@example.com (This is what it states in cPanel.)

However when any visitor to my website tries to use the Contact Us form, which is set to send emails to admin@example.com, the email fails and is sent to the LunarPages webmail as "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender".

I don't want to use the LunarPages webmail system at all but how do I stop emails and forms filled out on my website from failing and being returned in this way?

Here is a piece of the header:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  admin@example.com
    Unrouteable address

However the above address is routeable.

I appreciate any help on this.

Thank you.

It sounds like your domain is still in the etc/localdomains file on the server. When forms send emails from the server, they check that file before checking the MX record. If you changed the MX yourself in Cpanel instead of going through support, that file would not have been altered and you also don't have all the backup mx entries for Google Apps. Please contact support@lunarpages.com to fix this.

I am having a similar problem. I have an open support ticket but I think the same thing is happening to me. I can send email fine but cannot retrieve it from Outlook Express. When I tried to change my email password in cpanel, it didn't work. I had to go to my old host to change the email password. Does this mean that my email is still being routed through my old host provider even though my website is working on the Lunarpages servers? Also, I can retrieve my mail using the webmail horde. I just cannot retreive anything from Outlook Express.

Your issue sounds completly different from mine. My server is sending emails generated by my website directly to my LunarPages cPanel account.

I want my website to send my emails to my Google Apps account using my domain name as the email address.

I received an email a short time ago from support and they said it has been fixed but I should give it 24 hours.

heels4less, you might want to continue to work with support to find a solution to your issue.  Unless you have asked for special e-mail routing or setup, your mail should be routed through and via Lunarpages interface.  Also if this is a new account might check to make sure you have updated your name servers and also that changes you make on your hosting account with us are reflecting changes on your pages.

I woke up this morning & now it works!! I guess it took longer for the changed name servers to propagate to my emails than my website.
My website has been on the Lunarpages servers for 2 days now. My email just changed over today. Very weird. Thanks for your help. Bouncin for Joy

If you just started with Lunarpages, you need to wait a few days for everything to switch over.
I didn't do anything, it just started to work after about 4 days. Hope this helps.
