Confused
I have a laptop which I use to get my messages sometimes when I am on the road.  Both systems are configured the same but the laptop can't send email for some reason.  I have checked and double checked the setings and I can't see the wood for the trees at this stage.

I can download email no problem and my home email works on the laptop with no issues.
Solutions?

Hi Waidesworld,

Is your laptop ISP different than your home one?  Basically, some ISPs block emails sent from a server other than their own.  To see if this might be the cause, try changing the SMTP server to your ISP's.  Additionally, a firewall could also block sending mail.  See if you have any ports blocked by the firewall.

I hope this helps.

Check that on your laptop that you have the 'Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' ticked, and the option for 'Use same settings as incoming server' ticked.

These should be under the servers tab of your mail account properties (an in some versions you need to click a button called 'more options')
