I have tried everything 2 and 3 times.
Don't know what I am doing wrong.
Set up Outlook with the automatic setup program.
Restarted computer.
Set up account manually.
Restarted computer.
Set up account with Outlooks account set up wizard.
Restarted computer.

I can recive mail very good.
Always get the same error message when trying to send mail
Unable to connect to the server. (Account:'mail.ibewtravelers.net',SMTP Server:'mail.ibewtravelers.net', Error Number:0x800ccc0e).

What might I be doing wrong?

Hi jw716,

It could be a couple of things.

First of all, check to see if you have selected "My server requires authentication" in servers.

Next, if this does not work for you, try using your ISPs smtp server information. Please contact your ISP to get this information. It's not uncommon for an ISP to require their customers to use the information they provide for outgoing mail servers.

I hope this helps.

gee, I had to put my present ISP sendmail address and password with authentication.  This is earthlink
Have another ISP at work here then a different one for New York area and several others around the country.
Guess I will have to set up an account for each of them and change the default account everytime I visit that particular one.
It may be better to go back to my yahoo account.

Well, not all ISPs require this, only some.  For example, my ISP doesn't have any restrictions on who I use for SMTP outgoing mail, so I am able to use my mail.bestgarden.net SMTP server address.  I would try your domain's SMTP address first at each location, then revert to the ISP if you aren't able to send successfully.

Again, I hope this helps.

Miraenda,

I'm having problems configuring my outlook email.  I've configured it (obviously incorrectly) and get the following error message when I try to send/receive:

Task 'neptune.lunarpages.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts.'

Now, I used the above server for both POP3 and SMTP (and using neptune.lunarpages.com because that was what was listed on my welcom email), and based on your response above, maybe my server should be mail.slantedreality.com (my website is www.slantedreality.com).

Any thoughts on this?  Or am I just completely offbase on this whole thing (which wouldn't be surprising).  Thanks!

The login (for the main account and the authentication too) should be your full e-mail address.

Is that how you have set it up?

The address for the server can be mail.slantedreality.com if your domain has been registered for more than 72 hours and is pointing to the lunarpages servers.

If not, just use neptune.lunarpages.com

From the error message, it sounds like you could be using the wrong username. Try using the full e-mail address, e.g. you@slantedreality.com as the username.
