I've enabled SPAM Assissin, and find it's doing a pretty good job with default settings. But it seems some of the tests that would be helpful are set to low scores, or even 0. It looks like I can adjust them on the Spam Assassin Configuration screen, under "Scores," but I can't figure out how to enter them, and the text under that section is more confusing than helpful. Anyone used this feature and can explain how it works?

You're right, it does look like something's missing. At the very least I'd expect it to have "ThisTest Score [textbox]" so you could enter a weight.

In lieu of using the cPanel configuration, you can download the file from .spamassassin/user_prefs in your home directory, modify it using the Spamassassin documentation (below) and upload it again (ASCII mode!!):
