Very confused

Hi All,
I installed Outlook Express Autoconfig, Outlook express works nicely, BUT, I can no longer access webmail, now this wasn't so bad, but now I installed Outlook Express on my work PC and I only got the new emails, not the old.

Please Help!

Hi photocroatia,

Webmail stores the e-mails for you so they can be accessed on any computer, but if you're installing Outlook on 2 separate computers it will only download any new e-mails. It will not download e-mails already downloaded to webmail or another instance of Outlook Express.

Is this what you mean?

wow, very quick response, Thanks.

Well i cant see any mail in Webmail now, since I installed Outlook express.

Is there a way of downloading all mail, not just the new mail using Outlook, the problem is that at work I just want to see the emails I get, and only reply to urgent mail, I will be doing most of my mail at home. My home PC and Work PC will have different mail depending on when I received and read them, this will be a problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you were to recieve mail and check it in webmail before checking in OE, you would see it becuase it has yet to be downloaded.

I have three solutions to your problem

1) Go to the OE help files and learn how to tell OE to keep the mail on the server. This downloads but does not delete.

2) This is my favorite option and that is to switch to IMAP which caches the email's but they stay on the server and you can have folders.

3) this one also works, only use webmail.
