Hello All,

I am in the process of designing a website and have almost completed everything, however, when I use MS Frontpage 2003 to publish from my computer (local) to my remote server it automatically deletes the public_html folder!!!!!! So, in simple terms, I select the files I want to transfer, I open up the public html folder on my remote server, click publish site, it completes and states it was successfull, when i refresh I find that the files have been transferred outside of the public_html folder and subsequently the public_html folder is deleted.

I have contacted support and they stated that:

....."Frontpage does have a dangerous setting that will remove anything folder or file that does not exist on your PC which should be disabled."

The question is, how do I disable it?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?

Please Help!!!

Thanks,

J

Hello,

Since it's placing files outside the public_html folder, I'm guessing that you're using the FTP publishing option in FrontPage. Further, the FTP address you entered was slightly incorrect... you may have ommitted the public_html/ part of the FTP address.

If you have enabled the FrontPage server extensions in the LunarPages control panel, a better publishing method is the FrontPage HTTP publishing.

In FrontPage, publish using the HTTP publishing (the first option - "sharepoint") and publish to web address http://yourdomain.com.
