Hello,

I just set-up webhosting for a client of mine and her site is done in frontpage.  I installed the FrontPage extensions via the control panel just fine.  However when I went to connect to the server using the temporary URL they give you that you can upload files prior to your domain being propogated, but I cannot connect via FrontPage using that server URL.

I'm wondering if this is even possible or if you have to wait until the domain DNS is changed before you can publish with Front Page.

If someone knows and can let me know that would be great!

I don't remember having any problems using FTP with the temporary URL in the past.  Are you able to FTP in using another type of client (perhaps Filezilla)?

Before the DNS is changed you can use FrontPage FTP publishing (or another FTP client) to publish the site to the FTP address of your web site account. But you can't use the FrontPage HTTP publishing to publish the site to the temporary HTTP address.

Additionally, some of the features that require the FrontPage extensions such as FrontPage forms will not work until the DNS is changed and the browser goes to the regular http://domain.com address.

When publishing the site using FTP, take care to place your files in the public_html folder on the server.
