I'm trying to post a new site, haven't used FP to upload before; my navigation bars are not appearing - any idea why?  I created the site using a FP preset theme.  Thanks for any ideas.

Did you use FP's navigation view to place your pages into the navigation? If not, that would explain why there is nothing in your navigation bars.

Yes, they are all in place in navigation view.  FP is new to me; I think it has to do with the style templates and getting them properly uploaded.  I'll do a further search in the forums for previous poster with similar problems.  Thanks!

After getting all the pages in navigation view, then you need to insert a web component where you want the bar or navigation to be and pick the navigation view you want to show there.

Do the navigation bars appear in your FrontPage preview window, (before trying to upload your site)?  If they do not show up in preview, then you probably still need to insert the navigation bars.  On each page where you want a navigation bar select "insert/navigation" from the FP menu.  If the navigation bars do show up in your preview window then you might be having a problem uploading your site.  Have you installed the FrontPage extensions from cpanel?  You need to do that first.  It's very simple, and there is an LP tutorial that shows you how to do it.  Then be sure to use FrontPage's "file/publish site" feature.  Don't use a separate ftp program.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I had taken previously care of all the things you mentioned - installing FP extensions, etc.  I think I have fixed it for now - I used Format - Themes and selected "CSS" - Cascading Style Sheets - that seemed to make the border areas and links appear.  However, the preset theme's graphics are still not appearing (colored bars behind the links, eg.) - still working on that one.

Hmmm interesting.  What version of FP are you using? I'm using 2003, and in format/themes there are options for electing what parts of the theme, like graphics, to apply to your pages.  Something else to look for.

I'm using a trial version of FP 2002; I've ordered the full 2003 version and will start using it when it arrives, although from other postings I've seen, 2003 can be problematic on Lunarpages because of the sharepoint services (which I admit I don't know about yet).  Anyway, with my last reloading of the website, the graphics did appear along with the link bars, and I assume that is because of the CSS designation.  Some missing photographs appeared as well.  Thanks for your help.

I've run into a bit of the same problem lately and I think mine is directly related to the propogation of my domain names. If your site is new, could that be a part of your problem?  I'm getting all of the graphics, but none of the FP navigation on a couple of pages I created after starting the domain name switch. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. So, I'm thinking the propogation has something to do with it. Really weird though.  Confused
